Day 5 | Visiting the Argentine Waterfalls
December 10th, 2020
Today we visit the Argentinean Iguazú National Park to get into the falls declared one of the new seven wonders of the world!
The park preserves 67.000 acres of giant trees, vines and ferns living with multi-coloured butterflies, birds and other mammals, all of them part of the rich local flora and fauna. The park was declared Natural World Heritage in 1984, due to its scenic beauties and the great biological diversity of the subtropical jungle. The famous falls are in the heart of this Park.
We recommend starting the tour early morning. We will pick you up at 07 AM from your Hotel on one of our private cars and travel to the National Park. Once there, we will have a buffet breakfast at the Grand Melia Hotel – the only one inside the park! By going in early we aim to be some of the first people at the park, avoiding crowds as much as possible. According to the time of the year (high or low tourist season) and our client’s physical conditions, our guides will make the best selection of which trail to do first.
If the conditions are appropriate, the first circuit that we will take is a 4km (2.4 miles) flat hike to the Devil´s Throat (so we can arrive there before the first crowds). From there, after 1,000 meters of walking along the catwalks, we come to the spectacular “Devil’s Throat”, where the Iguazu river speaks with all its strength and the falling water gives the illusion of magical rainbows. We will also visit the Lower Trail, from where we can see among others, the “Two sisters Falls”, the “Bossetti Fall”, the “Hidden Fall”, a panoramic view of “San Martin island” and the “Union Fall”. Later we walk the Upper Trail shifting along walkways located above major falls up to the majestic “San Martin Fall” from where we have a panoramic view of the Brazilian falls.
And the best part of our tour: The Great Adventure!
A unique experience that combines the whole essence of the Iguazu National Park in one ride: the jungle and the waterfalls. It starts by entering the jungle from the “Sendero Yacaratía” trail with special transportation that allows a panoramic view of the environment along with experienced guides that give a lot of explanations as well as the legend of this spectacular place. After an 8 km truck ride, we arrive at the Puerto Macuco Base, which is 100 meters away from the Infirmary and Service Station, and 100 meters of stairs ahead is the floating platform where the second part of this ride begins. With motor-boats, we take visitors 6 km through the Canyon of the Iguassu River, until the falls, with 2 km of rapid rivers. After enjoying the view from the calm side of San Martin Island we sail to the “Tres Mosqueteros” waterfall, where the Brazilian and Argentinean sides and the Devil’s Throat can be clearly appreciated. After that, we sail along the shore of the island until we get to the most exciting part where we face the San Martin waterfall, a wonderful and unforgettable experience, for it’s the largest waterfall any motor-boat can approach safely. The landing is at the base of the lower circuit where visitors reintegrate the trails.
- Private guide & transportation.
- Full day tour.
- National Park entrance fee included.
- Lunch NOT included.
- The “Gran Aventura” is NOT recommended for individuals with physical disabilities which may put them at risk in responding to an emergency during the activity, pregnant women, participants with back problems, heart complaints or other serious medical conditions. Minimum age is 12 years old.

Day 6 | Secret Jungle Visit with Kayaking in La Lorenza
December 11th, 2020
Today we invite you on a full day discovering “La Lorenza”, a unique Iguazu’s secret spot. An ideal destination for nature lovers, birdwatchers, avid photographers and anyone looking to leave the world behind to simply surrender to the pleasure of contemplation. It is a small private reserve only 50 minutes away from the city of Iguazu, created to conserve a portion of the Atlantic Forest and the rich diversity contained in it. Located on the Paraná River across from Paraguay, the property is surrounded by the rainforest and small farms where local families live of the land. Today it has a wooden house and a deck, a privileged spot to chill after each excursion. An authentic local culture and rainforest experience. This is your opportunity to discover the hidden universe behind the falls! A typical rural house is the perfect place to immerse ourselves in the local culture and the secrets of our national drink: Mate. Using our own hands, we will prepare this popular beverage, starting from scratch with the plant. While drinking Mate we will share its history and social codes that rule this tradition. Then, a short walk through the jungle leads us to the river coast, where the kayaks are waiting for us. The calm waters of the river are easy to paddle and invite us to meditate in silence while we perceive with all our senses the surrounding nature.
Upon reaching the coast of La Lorenza, we start a 45-minute guided walk through the forest, which ends on our deck where a delicious lunch awaits us. In the afternoon a boat picks us up along the coast of the Paraná River to take us to Salto Yasy, the hidden gem of the area. Bathing in the river is safe and very enjoyable. This is an invitation to experience the joy of being immersed in this majestic natural setting.

Day 8 | Welcome Hike
December 13th, 2020
After all the expectations grown with the arrival to the mysterious Patagonia, a smooth welcome hike gives you the possibility to build up your first impression of what has just begun… and what will surprise you the following days. Standing on the rocks of the mountains that tell us the stories of our past times, immersed in native forests, surrounded by silent messages; a magnificent view from the lake with its arms, islands and the ancient glaciers on the distant high peaks, is the perfect moment to enjoy and share a very welcoming experience.
Nature will be the main attraction in this adventure. We recommend this activity for your arrival day directly from the airport, because of its short duration and panoramic views. A guide will pick you up and go touring around Patagonia’s best-kept secret spots. We will walk for about 40 minutes on even terrain, on a low intensity activity. You will learn about the surrounding lakes and history of the area. Along the way we will enjoy one of the main attractions in the region, the woodlands. Interpreting and listening to the sounds of the forest such as the tril sound of the chucao or the regular pecking of a woodpecker whilst, we´ll enjoy a welcome mate tasting!
